For the past 45 years, Mollie Partridge has worked as a manager and coach in performance and transformational learning — helping people grow, reflect, and become the best versions of themselves.

Several years ago I found out that my friend Joan was going to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute, not only for her first hospital stay, but for serious surgery.She was scared and I could understand why. I was thrilled when she invited me to go with her. I was clear that my job was to have things turn out successfully, and more importantly, so was she. I dressed into my purple scrub outfit and was really disappointed when I couldn’t go into the operating room with her. It was not because my outfit was purple, and not green like the doctors, but because it was not sterile! I had to stay in the waiting room with the family, but that was OK because I knew I could create a miracle from there. Everything turned out miraculously, and I stayed with her throughout her hospital stay, sitting by her on the night stand, and supporting her when she didn’t want to do some of the things they asked her to do. I am still with her. She affectionately calls me her, “I CAN DO ANYTHING” supporter and friend!
